I’m just a poor boy ...

I’m just a poor boyThough my story’s seldom toldI have squadered my resistanceFor a pocketful of numblesSuch are promises, all lies and jestStill a man hears what he wants to hearAnd disregards the rest. When I left my home and familyI was no more than a boyIn the company of strangersIn the quiet of the railway stationRunning scared, laying lowSeeking out the poorer quartersWhere the ragged people goLooking for the places only they would know.Asking only workman’s wagesI come looking for a jobBut I get no offersJust a come-on from the whores on seventh avenueI do declareThere were times when I was so lonesomeI took some comfort there. Then I’m laying out my winter clothesAnd wishing I was gone, going homeWhere the new york city winters aren’t bleeding meLeading meGoing home.In the clearing stands a boxerAnd a fighter by his tradeAnd he carries the remindersOf every glove that laid him downAnd cut him till he cried outIn his anger and his shameI am leaving, I am leavingBut the fighter still remains.

Goan Banega crorepati

Our friend from Benaulim, Anton Sebastiao, appeared on
Kaun Banega Crorepati, the famous 'Amitabh Bachchan' hosted show.

>>Anton had miraculously reached the end of the rounds>
by saying all his Rosaries and Novenas and had already won Rs.50 lacs.

>>"You've done very well so far," said Amitabh "but for Rs 1 crore you've only got one lifeline left - Phone a Friend.>

Everything is riding on this question...will you go for it?"
"Sure," said>Anton. "

Aou (I will)>ek last chance marta!">>
"OK..... The question is....
Which of the following>birds does NOT>build>its own nest?>
(a) Robin>(b) Sparrow>(c) Cuckoo or>(d) Crow">>

"Mai-cza-gho... I not knowing dat," said Anton, "so>better use my last>lifeline and phone to my friend Benny Coelho from>Mumbai.

He is>Goenkar,>but he is Bandra boy and born and brought up in Mumbai>so he's too>smart, real shaana bugger.">>

Anton called up his friend in Mumbai, told him the>circumstances and>repeated the question to him.
"Arree Baba Anton!">cried Benny, "Sarko>Endo Mure Tu, Simple it is... it's a cuckoo.">

"Ah-voice, sure maen>Benny?" asked Anton.
"Arrre baba hundred percent sure>maen! Pakka!">>

Anton hung up the phone and told Amitabh Bachan , "I>tell Cookoo."
"Is>that your final answer?" asked Amitabh Bachan.

"Sarkem>Sure, Sir!">>There was a long, long pause, then Amitabh Bachan>screamed,
"Cuckoo is>the correct answer!

Anton, you've just won Rs.One>Crore!!!">>
The next night, Anton threw a big party for all the>people from Benaulim>at the Benaulim Club.

Benny was specially flown in>from Mumbai as the>Chief Guest.>>Time for speeches... Anton takes the mike and asks>

Benny, "Saang mure,>Benny? Foo told you? How you know cookoo is not>building its own nest?

>Otherwise you are sarkem bondo and you know nothing>about birds....Your>Fadder or chicher (teacher) taught you ah-what???">>

"C'mon yaaar! Bas kya! What yor saying?" laughed>Benny. "You Goan Paos>are sometimes such daffars men.... Everybody knows a>cuckoo lives in a>clock.

and the new land was discovered, it cud be Mumbai india too

I was riding on the Mayflower
When I thought I spied some land

I yelled for Captain Arab
I have yuh understand

Who came running to the deck
Said, "Boys, forget the whale
Look on over yonder

Cut the engines
Change the sail

Haul on the bowline"
We sang that melody
Like all tough sailors do

When they are far away at sea
"I think I'll call it America"

I said as we hit land
I took a deep breath

I fell down, I could not stand
Captain Arab he started
Writing up some deeds
He said, "Let's set up a fort
And start buying the place with beads"

Just then this cop comes down the street
Crazy as a loon
He throw us all in jail
For carryin' harpoons

Ah me I busted out
Don't even ask me how
I went to get some help
I walked by a Guernsey cow
Who directed me down
To the Bowery slums
Where people carried signs around
Saying, "Ban the bums"

I jumped right into line
Sayin', "I hope that I'm not late"

When I realized I hadn't eaten
For five days straight

I went into a restaurant
Lookin' for the cook

I told them I was the editor
Of a famous etiquette book

The waitress he was handsome
He wore a powder blue cape

I ordered some suzette, I said
"Could you please make that crepe"

Just then the whole kitchen exploded
From boilin' fat

Food was flying everywhere
And I left without my hat

Now, I didn't mean to be nosy
But I went into a bank
To get some bail for Arab
And all the boys back in the tank
They asked me for some collateral
And I pulled down my pants

They threw me in the alley
When up comes this girl from France
Who invited me to her house
I went, but she had a friend
Who knocked me out
And robbed my boots

And I was on the street again
Well, I rapped upon a house
With the U.S. flag upon display
I said, "Could you help me out
I got some friends down the way"

The man says, "Get out of here
I'll tear you limb from limb"

I said, "You know they refused Jesus, too"
He said, "You're not Him

Get out of here before I break your bones
I ain't your pop"

I decided to have him arrested
And I went looking for a cop

I ran right outside
And I hopped inside a cab
I went out the other door
This Englishman said, "Fab"
As he saw me leap a hot dog stand
And a chariot that stood

Parked across from a building
Advertising brotherhood

I ran right through the front door
Like a hobo sailor does
But it was just a funeral parlor
And the man asked me who I was
I repeated that my friends
Were all in jail, with a sigh
He gave me his card

He said, "Call me if they die"
I shook his hand and said goodbye

Ran out to the street
When a bowling ball came down the road
And knocked me off my feet

A pay phone was ringing
It just about blew my mind

When I picked it up and said hello
This foot came through the line

Well, by this time I was fed up
At tryin' to make a stab
At bringin' back any help
For my friends and Captain Arab

I decided to flip a coin
Like either heads or tails
Would let me know if I should go
Back to ship or back to jail
So I hocked my sailor suit
And I got a coin to flip

It came up tails
It rhymed with sails

So I made it back to the ship
Well, I got back and took
The parkin' ticket off the mast
I was ripping it to shreds

When this coastguard boat went past
They asked me my name
And I said, "Captain Kidd"
They believed me but
They wanted to know
What exactly that I did

I said for the Pope of Eruke
I was employed

They let me go right away
They were very paranoid

Well, the last I heard of Arab
He was stuck on a whale
That was married to the deputy
Sheriff of the jail

But the funniest thing was
When I was leavin' the bay

I saw three ships a-sailin'
They were all heading my way
I asked the captain what his name was
And how come he didn't drive a truck

He said his name was Columbus
I just said, "Good luck."

death is not the end ...

When you're sad
and when you're lonely
and you haven't got a friend
Just remember that death is not the end

And all that you've held sacred,
falls down and does not mend
Just remember that death is not the end

Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

When you're standing at the crossroads
that you cannot comprehend
Just remember that death is not the end
And all your dreams have vanished
and you don't know what's up the bend
Just remember that death is not the end

Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

When the storm clouds gather 'round you,
and heavy rains descend
Just remember that death is not the end

And there's no one there to comfort you,
with a helpin' hand to lend
Just remember that death is not the end

Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

Oh, the tree of life is growing
Where the spirit never dies
And the bright light of salvation shines
In dark and empty skies

When the cities are on fire with the burning flesh of men
Just remember that death is not the end

And you search in vain to find just one law abiding citizen
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

the wedding song ......

I love you more than ever, more than time and more than love,
I love you more than money and more than the stars above,
Love you more than madness, more than waves upon the sea,
Love you more than life itself, you mean that much to me.

Ever since you walked right in, the circle's been complete,
I've said goodbye to haunted rooms and faces in the street,
To the courtyard of the jester which is hidden from the sun,
I love you more than ever and I haven't yet begun.

You breathed on me and made my life a richer one to live,
When I was deep in poverty you taught me how to give,
Dried the tears up from my dreams and pulled me from the hole,
Quenched my thirst and satisfied the burning in my soul.

You gave me babies one, two, three, what is more, you saved my life,
Eye for eye and tooth for tooth, your love cuts like a knife,
My thoughts of you don't ever rest, they'd kill me if I lie,
I'd sacrifice the world for you and watch my senses die.

The tune that is yours and mine to play upon this earth,
We'll play it out the best we know, whatever it is worth,
What's lost is lost, we can't regain what went down in the flood,
But happiness to me is you and I love you more than blood.

It's never been my duty to remake the world at large,
Nor is it my intention to sound a battle charge,
'Cause I love you more than all of that with a love that doesn't bend,
And if there is eternity I'd love you there again.

Oh, can't you see that you were born to stand by my side
And I was born to be with you, you were born to be my bride,
You're the other half of what I am, you're the missing piece
And I love you more than ever with that love that doesn't cease.

You turn the tide on me each day and teach my eyes to see,
Just bein' next to you is a natural thing for me
And I could never let you go, no matter what goes on,
'Cause I love you more than ever now that the past is gone.

dreamz ......

God don't make no promises that He don't keep.
You got some big dreams, baby,
but in order to dream you gotta still be asleep.

When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?

Counterfeit philosophies have polluted all of your thoughts.
Karl Marx has got ya by the throat,
Henry Kissinger's got you tied up in knots.

You got innocent men in jail, your insane asylums are filled,
You got unrighteous doctors dealing drugs that'll never cure your ills.

You got men who can't hold their peace and women who can't control their tongues,
The rich seduce the poor and the old are seduced by the young.
Adulterers in churches and pornography in the schools,

You got gangsters in power and lawbreakers making rules.
Spiritual advisors and gurus to guide your every move,

Instant inner peace and every step you take has got to be approved.
You can't take it with you and you know that it's too worthless to be sold,

They tell you, "Time is money" as if your life was worth its weight in gold.

When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?

-Bob Dylan

Well, I set my monkey on the log

And ordered him to do the Dog
He wagged his tail and shook his head
And he went and did the Cat instead
He's a weird monkey, very funky.
